Don’t Move Without Reliable Moving Company
Finding the best movers is not an easy task. There are many moving companies to choose from, all of which have different pros and cons. It can be difficult to find a company that is right for you.
First, ask for recommendations from friends and family. They will probably be able to tell you “Oh, these guys service that area, you should hire them!”, or “Don’t hire that other company, they are not so good!”. It is always a good idea to get personal referrals when it comes to choosing an excellent company! If you don’t have anyone who can give you the inside scoop on movers in your area, head online and search reviews of local companies near your home or office. You will be able to see what past customers had to say about their experiences with different moving companies.
Second, make sure that they are licensed by the state in which they operate and carry liability insurance coverage before hiring them. Unfortunately, there are many unlicensed moving companies out there (it could even end up being someone renting a truck off Craigslist), so this step may help protect you if something goes wrong during transit.
Third, always ask about a company’s availability. You don’t want to get locked into an agreement with a moving company only to find out that they are not available on your desired move-in date! Make sure you have at least one or two other companies in mind just in case the first choice is unavailable for any reason.
Fourth, be clear when it comes to scheduling and payment details. The last thing you need during such an already stressful time is additional stress stemming from misunderstandings about how much will be charged or what day of the week your belongings will arrive (if applicable). Be as specific as possible regarding who needs to pay for additional mileage if there are multiple stops involved or extra fees like parking tickets or storage fees.
Lastly, make sure you take advantage of the many available moving tools on the web! You can use sites like Google Maps and Yelp to find reviews for each company in your area (some movers even have their own Yelp page!). Some websites also offer free price quotes from different companies so that you don’t need to spend hours searching through multiple options before getting an idea of the going rate. The more information that is out there about local movers, the better chance you will have at finding a great mover quickly! Make sure to mention all these tips when interviewing potential companies; it may impress them enough to increase their bid or sweeten their deal with additional perks!
